Thessaloniki 2007 "TIME" - Mosaic on metal matrix and video- Photography is often described as the art that freezes time. In fact, the only thing it does is to rescue a flat and lifeless picture of a single moment of the past. PHOTOGRAPHY DOES NOT FREEZE TIME, IT BREAKS TIME INTO PIECES. Only these who have lived through a certain moment captured in a photograph can relive this moment by recalling memory sentiments that go with this particular photograph.
What i have done is to present two different frames that come together in one. The first one is a video frame, a football game. The second one is like mosaic, it has small fragments of a photograph taken from the particular football game as it is shown on this particular video. My intention is to show that photography does not freeze the moving image, but that it breaks it into pieces and finally makes it disappear.
